About The Project

We worked with Amna Dhanani to completely rebuild her online store. Amna is a talented writer and artist from interior Sindh who’s published four books that people in over 160 countries have read. She is also the owner of Amnartist, where she creates beautiful handmade stationery and jewelry.

The interesting part of the story of Amna is that she is completely self-educated; she only attended up to the 8th grade but she did not allow it to halt her. She began her stationery business due to frustration with the inaccessibility of good supplies of journaling in Pakistan. None of them was available or prohibitively expensive since it was imported. So she decided to make her own.

We built her new website on WordPress with WooCommerce, which gave us the flexibility to showcase both her books and her handmade products in one place.

The Problem

Outdated layout that made browsing a chore and too much clicking to find anything.
Missing clear “Buy Now” or “Add to Cart” buttons to guide customers.
Bare product pages with few photos or details. For handmade items, people need to see the quality.
Confusing checkout with too many steps. Customers would abandon their carts out of frustration.
The checkout was a nightmare. Unnecessary procedures, bewildering paperwork.
This all meant that Amna was losing sales.

The Solution

Clean, mobile-optimized design for all devices.
Shop Now and Buy on Amazon buttons right at their positions of expectations. No more hunting around.
Redesigned product pages with quality images, clear descriptions, and variant options.
Streamlined checkout with guest option for faster purchases.
Separated categories for easier navigation between books and stationery/jewelry.
Added Amna’s story to create authentic connection with customers.

Results and Impact

The new site has really impacted. Browsing and completing their purchases become a lot easier to customers. The abandonment of carts decreased since the checkout has become easier. The site itself is professional, and it fits the quality of the handmade work of Amna, even with the superior photos justifying the prices. Because we have developed it using WooCommerce, Amna will be able to add products and update the same on her own without having to wait until a developer comes.

The result: amnadhanani.com is now functioning as a decent online store. It presents the creativity of Amna, as well as transforms the visitors into buyers, uniting her books and handmade items in a single natural surroundings.
